The Hornet Spook Light also known as the Joplin Spook Light is an anomolous light that has occured in a section know as the Devils Promenade for over a century. The exact date of it's original appearance is unknown; but has been around long enough to spawn many myths and legends. The light is best viewed looking to the west just over the Oklahoma border but sometimes also appears looking toward the other directions although less frequently.
